Three of Adelaide's premier folk musicians have banded together to bring a new talent-filled trio to the acoustic music scene. John Munro, Mike O'Callaghan and Pete Titchener, all well respected musicians in their own right, are on a musical journey making a new sound for themselves. "Our strength lies in writing and choosing strong material and then applying dynamic arrangements and harmonies. We're determined not to sound like anyone else; a respectful nod to the traditional folk with an edgy kick of harmonies" It was internationally successful folk band Colcannon that brought these musicians together. After 21 years of harmonies Colcannon put down their instruments only to be picked up again a short while later by three good friends: Munro, O'Callaghan and Titchener. Pete says, "I guess there comes a time in all musical relationships when you just run out of steam, and then it's time to move on. About a year after Colcannon's demise I remember approaching John about forming a trio with Mike and seeing what happens from there?" Those familiar with the work of Eric Bogle would also be familiar with his guitarist of 35 years, John Munro. John continues to spread his musical talent with this trio as well as performing with Bogle and, together with Mike O'Callaghan, Australia's longest running (original line-up) Bluegrass band, Country Express. Pete Titchener can also be seen on stage with Eric Bogle and as a regular accompanist to Maria Forde, not to mention his 'behind the scenes' work producing demos for the up and coming generation of acoustic musicians. But these are not just highly respected, talented musicians. Each member also brings with him an impressive catalogue of original songs and arrangements. That leaves one final element that comes together on stage. The chemistry between the three 'old boys' spills out into the audience and it's the atmosphere of a Munro, O'Callaghan and Titchener concert that has people talking long after the performance is over.
